What’s New In Chevrolet In 2019?

Chevrolet has engineered an exciting lineup of models in 2019 thanks in large part to a commitment to adding more useful features. Whether you want a vehicle that offers the latest in safety technology, information and entertainment, or luxury and comfort features, you can find all of that and more in your new Chevrolet. Here are three new features that have been introduced to Chevrolet in 2019.

New Chevrolet Infotainment System

Chevrolet has a new generation of infotainment system that is no longer called MyLink — this new version is called the Chevrolet Infotainment 3 System. Each Chevrolet model comes with it as standard, but may come with either a 7.0 inch, 8.0 inch, or 10.2 inch touchscreen from which you can control it.

You can connect your Apple and Android phones to it either through a USB plug or through Bluetooth, depending on the model. Once your phone is connected you can use select apps through the infotainment system to play your music, movies, and more.

You can also use the Infotainment 3 system for the following:

  • Personalize your Chevrolet vehicle — create profiles to set individual radio presets, HVAC temperature settings, and other convenience feature settings.
  • Set your favourites — set your preferred order of radio stations to cycle through.
  • Use voice commands — play and chance music, make phone calls, and more using just your voice.
  • Navigate your trip — some models have available navigation system built into the infotainment system to help guide you where you want to go.
  • Download more apps — you can choose what extra apps you want to download to your vehicle’s system to personalize it with the music, news, weather, travel, sports, and other entertainment you want.

There are tons of benefits you can get out of the new infotainment system to help make every trip for you and your passengers more enjoyable.

Teen Driver Technology

New to most Chevrolet models is the standard Teen Driver System that helps parents enforce safe driving behaviours in their teenage children. This system allows parents to activate this system by designating a key or fob as “Teen Driver” keys, with private PINs you can choose to prevent them from changing the settings.

When a teenager uses the designated key or fob to drive the Chevrolet vehicle, it automatically activates several safety features and systems — forward automatic braking, forward collision alert, setting speed warnings and maximum speed limits, and setting volume limit for the sound system among several others.

The Teen Driver system can also provide your teenage children with feedback on how they are doing as they drive, as well as sending a report to the parent to review. It is a good way to help parents encourage and teach their kids safe driving habits.

This system comes as standard on the following Chevrolet models:

  • 2019 Cruze
  • 2019 Equinox
  • 2019 Silverado
  • 2019 Colorado
  • 2019 Malibu
  • 2019 Blazer
  • 2019 Traverse
  • 2019 Tahoe
  • 2019 Suburban
  • 2019 Volt
  • 2019 Camaro

This is just one of the new waves of innovation that Chevrolet is packing into their vehicles for Canadian families.

Automatic Climate Control

Every 2019 Chevrolet model has at least one trim that comes with some form of automatic climate control system. It works fairly simply — it works similar to the thermostat in your home, in that it allows you to set the temperature you want to have inside your Chevrolet vehicle. The vehicle’s HVAC system then works to reach and then maintain that temperature the entire time in which you are driving.

This setting also holds even after you turn off the vehicle and return to it hours or even days later. It remembers the temperature you had set, so when you start it again it will automatically begin to reach your desired temperature.

Not all trims across the Chevrolet model range come with automatic climate control, and some models and trims have the ability to set different temperatures in different ‘zones’ of your vehicle. Single-zone automatic climate control usually refers to the driver’s area, while dual and tri-zone automatic climate control adds the ability to set temperatures for one or two passenger zones as well.

Here is a list of some of the Chevrolet models that come with single-zone climate control:

  • 2019 Cruze
  • 2019 Colorado
  • 2019 Spark
  • 2019 Volt
  • 2019 Camaro

Here are some Chevrolet models that come with dual-zone automatic climate control:

  • 2019 Equinox
  • 2019 Silverado
  • 2019 Malibu
  • 2019 Impala
  • 2019 Blazer
  • 2019 Corvette
  • 2019 Camaro

These Chevrolet models come with tri-zone automatic climate control:

  • 2019 Traverse
  • 2019 Tahoe
  • 2019 Suburban

In addition, the 2019 Bolt-EV comes with general automatic climate control as standard on both its Premier and LT trims.
